Diploma Validation
As of Spring 2016, Johns Hopkins University provides all graduates with digitally signed and encrypted Certified Electronic (Ce) Diplomas and Certificates, each containing a unique identifier which enables authentication by entities that wish to validate a graduate’s credential.
Additionally, the SURETYLOCKTM feature, which adds a QR code watermark positioned on the back of printed diplomas, is an additional method of verification available for all newly-printed diplomas as of October 22, 2024. When scanned, the QR code provides real-time authentication of the credential’s publishing details, including the recipient’s name, the conferral date, and the awarding institution.
Further information about these security features and instructions for validating Hopkins credentials are available below. Johns Hopkins University strongly encourages employers, academic institutions, government agencies, and other entities to authenticate JHU credentials using these methods.
CeDiploma
Certified Electronic Diplomas and Certificates are available for download, after paper diplomas have been mailed, through myJHU for recently graduated students or by creating an account through Myhub. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact SEAM.
